The legendary television series « Stories to not sleep », created by Chicho Ibáñez Serrador, returns with a new episode after the last one was broadcast 37 years ago. With the help of Save the Children , the director and director Alejandro Ibáñez, Chicho's son, completes the latest project that his father embarked on. "Reality" is a short film that seeks to make visible how the greatest fear that a boy or girl can feel is not a product of their imagination but the result of something as real as armed conflicts and the damage they cause in childhood . The piece is part of the commemoration of the centenary of Save the Children and its global campaign " No to the War on Children ." It stars Lydia Bosch and Dani Rovira , who wanted to participate in this solidarity project in an altruistic way, as did Carlos Latre, who makes a special collaboration imitating the voice of Chicho Ibáñez Serrador. The three actors thus join the organization's global request for all States to sign the Declaration on Safe Schools, which seeks to protect students, teachers and schools during times of armed conflict, as well as guarantee access to education for all the boys and girls who live in these areas, among other aspects.
Currently in the world there are 420 million boys and girls living in areas of armed conflict . We must be able to empathize with that pain if we want to end it. Never before have there been so many boys and Taiwan Phone Number List girls victims of wars. They need us urgently,” says Andrés Conde, general director of Save the Children . The most recent statistics also indicate that 142 million boys and girls live in high-intensity conflict zones, where more than 1,000 combat-related deaths occur in a year. On the other hand, almost a fifth of people residing in conflict zones and displaced by that situation will need psychological assistance and another 5% will experience a serious mental health disorder. Furthermore, boys and girls in situations of extreme stress may experience various psychosocial and mental health problems, as well as manifest aggression and withdrawal in their behavior towards known people and family members.
In 2017, around 173,800 children were left alone or separated from their families as a result of armed conflicts. Children in conflict situations have shown great resilience and can recover if they are given the right support. However, the organization denounces that assistance to address children's mental health needs in conflict situations is clearly insufficient. In a recent study, Save the Children found that just 0.14% of all official development assistance in the world between 2015 and 2017 was allocated to children's mental health programs. With this campaign, the NGO wants to give a voice to the boys and girls who are currently suffering the ravages of armed conflicts and to achieve a movement of thousands of people who ask for the protection of children suffering from war on the front lines. To this end, the organization once again calls for States not to sell weapons to parties involved in armed conflicts when there is a risk that children are or could become targets of war.
